Legos and More Parks

3-19-16

There is a Lego Exhibit ‘Pieces of Peace’ in town for a few weeks and of course the kids wanted to check it out. There were many historical sites located in Japan and also from around the world all made of Legos. Kayden was very impressed since he is in a Lego phase. The tickets were a bit over priced for what we saw, but I made sure to take a picture of Every. Single. One. Lol Now I can share them for FREE-enjoy!

The best part about the Lego exhibit was that we had to pass a huge-new- park on the way there. We quickly loaded the car and headed there right after. This park had just about everything. It had a sand box, roller slide, crazy netted climbing tubes, slides and thankfully a lot of shade. It sits right next to ancient castle ruins. You have to hike a bit down this winding path, which is part of the ruins, to get to the park.

All the Lego exhibits are of World Heritage Site (just a few random ones in there)

As we were leaving I noticed this by the front door. Umbrellas are very important here and you quickly learn to always carry one when there is a chance of rain, regardless of the percentage and always keep a spare in your car. That is really just for us 'Y platers'. The locals almost always have an umbrella for rain and sun. This is the first time I have seen umbrella locks though! There is usually a bucket of umbrellas in the vestibule of every store and it is on the honor system. If you forget your umbrella, take one and replace it at your next stop in their bucket. Wish I had an umbrella on me to test this out!

The kiddos having fun outside the building. What one does, they all have to.

And the park, it was a bit busy
The hike down, zig zag through the castle ruins
It even had a roller slide!

I thought this was the coolest thing at this park. Makayla had to help McKinley down the first time, but then she got it every time after that. The kids spent most of their time in the netted climbing tube. I enjoyed watched the one and only adult thinking they could take part. I was nice and didn't take any pictures of her crawling out backwards.
This happened every time when they hit the bump in the slide

The kids were so patient and stood here for awhile for me. I was trying to just have them in the arch ways, but the park was soooo busy.

*New Park* I really wanted to head out to the Cape Zanpa Lighthouse and in order to have the rest of my family on board I found a fun park nearby to stop at first.
Seeing the Giant Shisa dog was worth the trip! There was another larger park located in the back of the field, but was closed for new construction. That was a bit of a bummer, but we will just have to come back.

 A bit windy today...
I just want to jump in!

Preston seemed to have misunderstood that I wanted to actually go IN the lighthouse and not just drive by lol  So we will have to come back another day for that as well. This is along the west side of the island and we took the scenic drive through hundreds of crops to get here. Of course counting the random soda machines on corners surrounded by pineapples or corn. Lol
