Good Times in Seattle Part 2

7-24-15

Well after hanging out at the airport for 9 hours we finally headed to the hotel at 1:00pm yesterday and pretty much didn’t take no for an answer for checking in early. It was such a nice room. Honestly any room would have been nice after sitting on the airport floor all day, but this was very nice! Jams were on immediately and we ordered pizza that was delivered to our room! Then had Italian food delivered for dinner. Preston and I ended up taking a little nap-not sure what the kids were doing??? Nice to just relax.

EEK! Our hotel must have been too nice and we must not have wanted to leave; Preston’s alarm didn’t go off and luckily he woke up. It was 4:15am!! Check in for our flight was between 3:30-5:30am: you don’t check in by that time your seats become available to space A travelers. We got dressed so fast and made it to the airport and checked in at 5:25am. That’s packing 8 suitcases, 5 people dressed, loading and unloading from the shuttles, the shuttle ride, and trip to the ticket counter. Phew, I’m tired all over again!

Then the news came-delayed AGAIN! AGAIN…they told us at 8:30am. Everything was on track and we actually felt good from our “extra” sleep. We opted to get our luggage even though most left it on the plane. I thought it was important to have clean clothes and my hygiene stuff. Although had I’d known it would take 3 hours to actually get our luggage, I may have changed my mind. So here we were again. In the airport with our 8 suitcases…

We were able to extend our stay in the same room for another night, thankfully. Some families had to drive over an hour away because there were NO rooms available. We took the luggage back to the room and then rented a car to take a trip to see Shawn and the kiddos. It was a nice visit that I wish could have been longer, but back to the hotel to see if we will even leave tomorrow?
