Halloween Fun

10-28-15

We had a fun Girl Scout event this evening. My troop participated in the Camp Courtney Chapel’s Trunk or Treat night. I thought our trunk was fun and creative. I am definitely getting my use out of these pizzas I spent so much time on last year. We even passed out gummy pizzas and mustaches to stick with our theme. The mustaches were a HUGE hit and I will have to think about how to use them again next year. The girls had a great time…and Kayden. He loves attending his sister’s events.

Once the crowd of trick or treaters died down the girls went up the hill to dance to the music. I wish I had my video camera and filmed them. Makayla and her friends were sure putting on a show for everyone. When we got home Makayla asked me to check Facebook to see if anyone posted the video of them dancing. Wait, what?! First, she named dropped Facebook. Second, apparently there were people filming this crazy bunch of girls. Oh, am I in trouble.

Dancing away

Preston was able to join us and was able to chat with some work buddies. I think he would have liked to have introduced his wife without having a mustache though. (Thought I had a picture of myself, but don't-phew, but I was sporting a hand drawn mustache) Haha, oh well. Great night and we even earned a patch ;)

Pumpkin Carving!! I didn't think we were going to be able to have pumpkins this year. The commissary received one shipment and they were gone within the day. Luckily they were received a second shipment right before Halloween and I was able to snag a few. Now I know to get them as soon as I see them for next year.

This is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween...
We took the kids over to Camp McT for some Trick or Treating. The kids school was also hosting a Truck or Treat. I wish I had volunteered for this one too, the turn out wasn't as great as the churches, but the kids still had a great time. We walked the neighborhood a little bit and then we headed back home. The base was opened up to the locals also and it seemed like most of them showed up! Mckinely was Minnie mouse and wore her costume to the last trunk or treat where she tore it up in the jump house. Luckily I had packed this one in the kids dress up bin that we brought over with us. For some reason I didn't pack the cute headband that came with it so I had to come up with something. It was the best I could do in the 5 min before we walked out the door. lol
