----Spooky Site Tour----
The military travel office offers many different types of on
island tours as well as off island tours. Most of these tours are highly recommend
since they take care of everything for you. I thought it was time to sign us up
for one and being it is almost Halloween, we choose the spooky tour. The kids were
so excited and counted down the days until then. This tour took us to some of
the most famous spooky site located on the southern part of the island (next
year we will take the northern tour). The sites themselves weren’t really
spooky, it was all the ghost stories they told you on the bus. There were a few
that gave me the chills and I will be honest that after this tour I went and
purchased a few books about these stories.
We made stops and some old ruins, an old steam train engine,
a shrine and temple, and an old shipwreck on the beach (which they turned into
a children’s playground-creepy). The kids were great during the entire tour
seeing how this tour was from 6pm-10pm and they weren’t the only little ones
either. They loved riding on the big comfy bus. They lasted through all the
stops, but passed out on the way back to base.
I would say Kayden
had the best time. Many of the ghost stories told by our guide were about
children. He also pointed out how children seem to have the ability to see
things adults cant. I don’t think this really made sense to Kayden, but he was definitely
freaking out a group of young marines. At each stop Kayden would walk around
and point out stuff he was seeing. It only took a few of “oh my gosh, did you
see that?!” before a group of young marines on the tour with us were following
Kayden around like he was the guide. Lol I heard one of them say “this kids
knows what’s going on, if he runs, we know to run too.” I had a good laugh
watching them get startled each time Kayden would say something. Now I looking
back at my pictures, I do have a few spooky things appear in them, maybe Kayden
was really seeing stuff????? Sppppooooookkkkyyyyy…….
It was a really fun trip and I am looking
forward to the next one we take. Pictures on the bus as we were just leaving base:
Kayden scaring everything one. Did you see that?
Everything does look a bit spooky at night
I love this flashlight picture
Haha acting crazy
Look at all those orbs
You are not allowed to take any pictures passed this point, but this was probably the spookiest place of the night.
